The dataset includes 9,282 objections spoken by attorneys in the archived transcripts. It excludes 58 objection-like lines spoken by judges, witnesses, or court reporters. Each objection is checked against the next 6 utterances in the same proceeding, stopping before a later objection begins. Sustain rates use only the 6,613 objections ruled sustained or overruled on the record. The remaining outcomes are kept separate: 1,396 rulings not stated, 31 sidebar or off-record objections, and 1,242 deposition objections with no judge present. Grounds come from the objection text. Witness attribution uses the proceeding’s recorded witness; 259 procedural objections remain unassigned. Source: 532,194 transcript utterances across all archived phases.
