Sharon Gilbert was an LAPD police service representative and 911 operator and dispatcher, a position she also held on January 1, 1989. As a prosecution witness in the criminal trial, she testified about a call received that morning and said she heard a screaming woman and sounds she believed were strikes. She underwent direct examination, cross-examination, redirect, and recross in the criminal trial and later testified on direct examination in the civil trial.
