Eunice Durden Simpson, O.J. Simpson's mother, testified as a defense witness on July 10, 1995, in a direct examination by Johnnie Cochran. She said she had four children, identified O.J. as her second son, and explained that she called him O.J. because he never liked the name Orenthal James.
