Michael Brewer represented Sharon Rufo in the civil case against O.J. Simpson, working alongside the Goldman family's attorneys from Mitchell, Silberberg & Knupp. He was deeply involved in the pre-trial phase, deposing key witnesses including O.J. Simpson himself, Allen Cowlings, Cora Fischman, and Christian Reichardt, and appeared as early as the October 1995 criminal-court hearing over the return of Simpson's property, where he argued that plaintiffs should at minimum be allowed to inspect and photograph the evidence before any release. At trial, Brewer delivered his own opening statement and examined witnesses including Simpson and Ronald Fischman, then joined Petrocelli and Kelly in closing arguments that methodically laid out the case that Simpson harbored intense rage toward Nicole Brown Simpson and had been caught in multiple lies.
