Michael Brewer represented Sharon Rufo in the civil case against O.J. Simpson, working alongside attorneys representing Fred Goldman. During depositions, he examined O.J. Simpson, Allen Cowlings, Ms. Fischman, and Christian Reichardt. He also appeared at the October 1995 criminal-court hearing on the return of Simpson's property, where he argued that the plaintiffs should at minimum be allowed to inspect and photograph the evidence before its release. At the civil trial, Brewer delivered an opening statement, examined Simpson and Ronald Fischman, and joined Petrocelli and Kelly in closing arguments presenting the plaintiffs' case that Simpson harbored intense rage toward Nicole Brown Simpson and had been caught in multiple lies.
