💬 From the record:
Denise Lewis was a Los Angeles Police Department laboratory technician assigned to the Scientific Investigation Division who had worked for the department since 1981. Her duties included accompanying criminalists into the field to gather evidence and handling Coroner's office evidence received by the laboratory, including assigning booking numbers and itemizing it. During direct examination by Marcia Clark and cross-examination by Robert Blasier in June 1995, she gave foundational trace-evidence testimony and was questioned about a five-page report supplied to an Assistant District Attorney the day before her testimony and evidence-handling concerns involving unsealed Coroner's packages, missing handling logs, mold on a shirt, and inconsistent testimony about a bindle date.
