Robert Groden appeared as a defense photographic-evidence witness and reviewed images described as showing O.J. Simpson wearing Bruno Magli shoes in 1993. On cross-examination, plaintiff attorney Peter Gelblum challenged Groden about alleged résumé inflation, his formal credentials, tabloid dealings, his methodology, and other frames said to contain the anomalies Groden identified. Groden said a final contact sheet did not change his opinion, but acknowledged that if 30 authenticated photographs existed, including photographs published before the murders, that would affect his overall conclusion; plaintiffs later presented forensic expert Gerald Richards, who used microscopic analysis and measurements to rebut Groden's alteration claims.
