Gilbert Aguilar was an LAPD forensic print specialist who had worked in the latent print section for over ten years and performed more than 150,000 print comparisons when the defense called him in the criminal trial. He testified that none of 17 latent prints lifted from the Bundy crime scene matched O.J. Simpson; during cross-examination, the prosecution highlighted the difficulty of developing prints from leather gloves and other surfaces and established that many potential sources had not been compared. Aguilar was also examined as a witness in the later civil trial.
