Paired purple-top whole-blood reference vials drawn from Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman during autopsy and identified together as Items 59 and 60. Testimony addressed their delivery through Detective Vannatter to LAPD serology, processing and transfer through Collin Yamauchi to Dennis Fung, quantities released for defense examination, and exterior blood smearing. A civil opening asserted a brief transport interval while expressing uncertainty about its duration, and a defense closing cited Vannatter's access to the EDTA-containing tubes to allege an opportunity to plant blood.
