Detailed entries (10)
Plaid cap found on driver floor of the Bronco. Catalogued as LAPD Item 27, the cap was tested for blood, transported to the FBI laboratory, and examined by Douglas Deedrick, who found hairs consistent with the defendant inside and cat hair; a single Bronco carpet fiber was also recovered despite the cap's storage in the vehicle.
Two Visa dry-cleaning vouchers from March 1994 — one bearing O.J. Simpson's name for a tuxedo, one bearing Nicole Simpson's name for a woman's dress — removed by Thano Meraz from the door pocket of the Bronco without permission while the vehicle was impounded. Meraz admitted reading the receipts; they were never subsequently recovered. People's 533 relates to these vouchers.
Photograph of the brown checkered cap (LAPD Item 27) showing its position on the driver's floorboard of the Bronco. Used by the prosecution in testimony regarding hair evidence and the cap's placement relative to the vehicle's carpet.
A .357 magnum revolver impounded from Simpson's Ford Bronco at the time of his arrest, along with a black leather travel bag, cellular phone, and green towel. Identified by Det. Lange from personal examination of the vehicle's contents.
Six .357 rounds of ammunition recovered from the cylinder of the revolver impounded from Simpson's Bronco.
A blue bag recovered from the Bronco, formally sub-labeled as People's 164-B from the parent exhibit People's 164 and identified by Dennis Fung on the stand.
A glove recovered from the Bronco and formally sub-labeled as People's 164-A from the parent exhibit People's 164, identified by Dennis Fung on the stand.
Shovel (LAPD Item 92), plastic sheet or liner (LAPD Item 93), and white towel (LAPD Item 91) recovered from the rear cargo area of Simpson's Bronco. Trace evidence including carpet fibers was collected from these items on July 28 and August 2, 1994; the shovel was characterized at trial as a barn-scoop type and the plastic as standard vehicle equipment for the spare tire.
Two Styrofoam cups — one containing coffee — placed on the hood of the impounded Bronco by civilians and subsequently removed without being photographed, leaving a coffee ring or stain on the hood. Cited by the defense as evidence of inadequate crime scene security.
The driver's side floor mat was noted as cut out or absent when the Bronco was picked up from the print shed. The missing mat led Meraz to believe evidence had already been removed at that location.
