Testimony traced Detective Lange's handling of the shoes and their delivery to the serology laboratory on June 14, with differing reported receipt or booking times and challenges to the custody route. The shoes were used as People's 384 and as civil comparison evidence; testimony stated that they tested presumptively negative for blood and that their sole pattern did not match the Bundy impressions.
