in Simpson Voicemails Calls
OJ Simpson voicemail to Gretchen Stockdale, June 12, 1994
The original voicemail OJ Simpson left for Gretchen Stockdale at 7:35 PM on June 12, 1994, recorded through Prestige Voice Mail service in Lomita, California, subsequently copied to standard cassettes. Multiple copies were made, including one given to defense investigator John Pavelic in September 1994; a second copy was later taped over by Stockdale in March or April 1995, while the original digital recording remained on Prestige Voice Mail's systems. The chain of custody — whether Pavelic held the only copy — was disputed between prosecution and defense.
