Bronco Photographs

Photographs and photograph sets depicting the white Ford Bronco at Rockingham, including its position relative to the curb, exterior views, door-sill views, tinted windows, and surrounding scene details. The photographs were displayed or discussed across preliminary, criminal, civil, and deposition proceedings.

Photographs and captured views of the Bronco door-sill and adjacent interior door-panel areas, including Fung examining the sill with a flashlight, marked or circled stain locations, Items 21 and 22 near the sill, and reddish or brown-appearing specks. The exhibits were used for testimony and challenges concerning stain visibility, color, location, and recollection; the door-sill photograph shown to Matheson was identified as Plaintiffs' 2380.

Photographs of the Bronco's driver's-side floor area, including the floor mat, a wider view used to locate a partial shoeprint, and a close-up of carpet item 33. Other images show the cut carpet piece, an area described by a witness as an apparent blood stain, and the adjacent door and running-board area.

Photographs of the Bronco taken outdoors on August 10, 1994, at Viertel's/Virtelli's Towing, including console and door-area views. Gregory Matheson marked locations he identified as blood evidence with red circles, while questioning addressed whether stains were visible in bright sunlight.

Photographs of the Bronco's running boards and adjacent door areas. Driver's-side images were used to identify or mark reported stain locations and collection cards; Plaintiffs' 2281 depicts the passenger-side running board and was used to illustrate a gap examined with a flashlight.

Photographs of reported stain locations and evidence markers in the Bronco interior, including items 29–31 around the center console and steering wheel, markers 303–306 on the console, and collection locations 296–299 around the driver's door and window sill. Witnesses were questioned about whether some marks were visible.

Photographs of the white Bronco's driver's side showing a brownish-red spot above the door handle, including a close-up marked with Roman numeral I and a wider view of Dennis Fung pointing to the location. Philip Vannatter testified that he could not discern the mark in Exhibit 108.

People's 172, a Bronco evidence board combining a vehicle diagram, call-out lines, and photographs of bloodstain collection locations, including the door panels, steering column, console, dashboard, pedals, carpet, and driver's-side door-handle well. It was displayed to orient witnesses and the jury to the collection sites.

Photographs of the white Bronco at the LAPD print shack, described as taken June 14, showing fingerprint powder on or around the driver's door and doorjamb. They were used in questioning John Meraz about his testimony that he had not observed print dust.

Civil Exhibit 211 is a photographic posterboard titled “Bronco Evidence” showing locations in the Bronco interior associated with the original June 14 blood collection; during O.J. Simpson's examination, counsel described it as showing where blood was found.

Defense 1087, a June 14 photograph of the Bronco console showing bloodstain evidence locations 30 and 31, displayed during the examinations of Dennis Fung, Gary Sims, and Henry Lee.

People's 62-F depicts the Bronco's rear cargo area with packages, a shovel, and plastic. People's 109 depicts the five-foot shovel positioned point-down in the cargo area.

LAPD photograph of the Bronco center-console interior taken August 10, 1994 and displayed as showing blood stains. It was used during Andrea Mazzola's examination to challenge whether the stains were present after the June 14 collection; Daniel Gonzalez could not identify the two large drops he said he remembered.

Exhibit 239 shows Fung holding a flashlight at the Bronco on June 14. Defendant's 1092 shows him using a flashlight to examine a red stain labeled item 34 in the Bronco.

Two-page Exhibit 1420 photograph set of the Bronco console, described as apparently showing blood and as depicting the location where Item 303 was collected. Kelly Mulldorfer said the photograph did not refresh her recollection, and Gregory Matheson said he could not see blood on page 1 even with a magnifying glass.

People's 529 photograph of the Bronco interior showing spots on the inside of a door, including areas marked 21, 22, and 23 and described as blood. It was discussed with John Meraz, including a test of his claimed ability to see the depicted blood without his glasses.

People's P-34, displayed to the criminal-trial jury, shows the Bronco interior with a package addressed to Orenthal Productions in the rear cargo area.
