Rockingham Crime Scene Photos

A series of Rockingham garage-interior photographs, including People's 128 and 130–134. People's 130 (photograph 000095) shows the interior from the laundry-room doorway, People's 131 (photograph 000096) provides a second angle, and the other views show the side door, a Testarossa, bicycles, weights, boxes, a chest, and a television; Kaelin could not determine whether objects visible in People's 130 were mirrors.

Photographs of Simpson's bedroom at Rockingham, including the bed, luggage straps, carpeting, and bedspread. Testimony described People's 126 as showing the foot of the bed without visible straps, People's 167 as showing straps after Detective Luper moved them, and Defendant's 1256 as showing a strap hanging over the side of the bed as originally found; Defense 1060 and Defense 1061 and Defendant's 1257 were additional bedroom photographs.

A Rockingham blood-trail display identified in the criminal trial as People's 120 and in a civil-trial reference as Board 155. It combined photographs of driveway stains and evidence markers with a property diagram marking the trail and was used to discuss the locations and relative positions of collected and uncollected stains.

Photographs of the Rockingham driveway, including wide views and close-ups of droplets and evidence cards near the front entrance. Preliminary-hearing testimony described red-stain droplets in the driveway as ultimately determined to be blood.

People's 63 photograph series showing the Simpson residence and the Rockingham–Ashford area, including the Ashford gate, parking locations, and the Bronco. Identified variants include the residence print 63-A, Detective Lange's annotated 63-C view, and Allan Park's 63-E limousine-parking annotation.

Photographs of the Rockingham stairway and hallway leading to the master bedroom, including the light-colored stairwell carpet. In the civil trial, counsel used Exhibits 924 and 925 to argue that no blood was found from the foyer to the bedroom; Defendant's 1089 and Defendant's 1090 were displayed during the criminal trial to show the stairwell and hallway.

People's 139 and its annotated versions were used with Kaelin to mark the pathway toward his guest room and with Allan Park to mark where he testified that he saw a dark-clothed figure near the front door. The latter marked image was introduced as People's 139-B.

Photographs of the Rockingham kitchen used during Kaelin's testimony to identify the phone, seating area, and television area. People's 141, identified in the civil proceeding as Plaintiffs' 44 (Trial 141), was also used during Simpson's deposition to discuss where he said he noticed blood on his left pinkie and where Kaelin searched for a flashlight.

People's 64 photographs of the Ashford gate and surrounding area, including annotated 64-B and 64-C versions recording Allan Park's limousine and intercom positions. Witnesses differed or qualified their vehicle identifications: Park identified a black 300ZX, Detective Fuhrman could not definitively identify a dark vehicle, and Detective Lange identified a black Thunderbird as registered to Kato Kaelin.

People's 535 and 536 depict a picture frame found beneath O.J. Simpson's bed at Rockingham. People's 535 shows the bed with the frame beneath it; People's 536 shows the framed image of O.J. Simpson and Nicole Brown Simpson, which Christopher Darden later characterized in closing argument as their wedding photograph and invoked as evidence of obsessive behavior.

Defense 1122 is a perspective photograph of Item 16 at Rockingham with a numbered card; Mazzola could not identify the pictured object from that photograph alone. Defense 1123 is a close-up that she acknowledged showed Item 16 had been photographed.

Photographs of Item No. 10 as it appeared at Rockingham on June 13, 1994. Defense 1073 and Defense 1105 were separately introduced and displayed.

People's 146 is a photograph of Rockingham Street showing the approach to the Rockingham gate; People's 147 is a second photograph of the gate. While discussing People's 147, Allan Park confirmed that the gate was closed on the night in question.

Two photographs of the back door at Rockingham, including Defendants' 2318, which Arnelle Simpson authenticated as depicting the door as it existed on June 13, 1994. She testified that the door had no lock that could be opened with a key from outside.
