Item 78 — Blood Stain on Sole of Ron Goldman's Boot
Bloodstained material designated Item 78 from the sole of Ron Goldman's boot, sampled at locations 78-A through 78-E and depicted in several exhibits. Cotton testified that PCR indicated a two-person mixture, with Simpson excluded and Nicole Brown Simpson and Goldman not excluded, while the RFLP result was consistent with Brown Simpson but inconclusive as to Goldman. Plaintiff's counsel and the prosecution characterized the stain as a mixture of the victims' blood and argued that it was cast-off from the murder weapon.
