Alvin Michaelson was an attorney for Robert Kardashian and appeared with Janet Levine at a May 3, 1995 motion hearing concerning proposed testimony by Kardashian about a Louis Vuitton garment bag. Levine argued that calling Kardashian, a member of Simpson's legal team, implicated the advocate-witness rule, attorney-client privilege, and Simpson's Sixth Amendment interest in continuity of counsel, and she proposed a stipulation instead. The prosecution contended that videotape showed Kardashian leaving Simpson's premises with the bag while it was full, that the defense later presented it empty, and that its unknown contents might have yielded evidence if examined.
