Item 47 — Bundy Blood-Drop Swatch Bindle with Transfer Stains
Item 47, the bindle containing swatches from a Bundy blood drop and bearing transfer stains or imprints. Dr. Henry Lee described wet transfers as a scientific fact and maintained that something was wrong, while agreeing under a hypothetical that the blood's identity theoretically would not change and noting that degradation could make a DNA pattern unreadable. Other proceedings discussed an asserted conflict with testimony that the swatches were dry, connected the stains to a defense planting theory, and recorded the prosecution's challenge to that theory and to an allegation that one imprint did not match a swatch.
