Lydia Bodin served as a deputy district attorney for the prosecution and appeared alongside Christopher Darden during pretrial proceedings in January 1995. In the Sojourn subpoena hearing, she argued that the domestic-violence counselor could not claim privilege because the victim was deceased and no guardian or conservator existed, while also arguing that the estate executor's waiver was sufficient if the privilege otherwise applied. Bodin also participated as a speaker in motions concerning prior violence and victim statements, witness exclusion and admissibility, specific incidents and expert testimony, prior acts and statements, and the admissibility of spousal-abuse evidence.
