Jury scheduling

Date: Tuesday, June 20, 1995 • Utterances: 3
Judge Ito briefly addressed the jury to announce scheduling adjustments: an extended lunch break and an early 3 p.m. adjournment to accommodate a juror's family graduation. He reminded jurors of their standard admonitions and called counsel to chambers before recessing.

2 THE COURT:

All right. Ladies and gentlemen, we--I have some scheduling matters I need to talk to the lawyers about. I'm going to give you a longer lunch hour than normal today, up in the big lounge rather than keep you down here. Also, if you recollect, one of the jury members needs to attend a graduation this afternoon, so we will be quitting early today at three o'clock. Please remember all my admonitions to you. Don't discuss the case among yourselves, form any opinions about the case, allow anybody to communicate with you or conduct any deliberations until the matter has been submitted to you. As far as the jury is concerned we will stand in recess until one o'clock. And I would like to see counsel in chambers in about five minutes.
