Jury instructions

Date: Tuesday, July 18, 1995 • Utterances: 16
Judge Ito dismissed the jury for the noon recess with standard admonitions, then reconvened in open court without the jury to briefly address outstanding discovery and witness disclosure issues. Cochran deferred those issues to Dean Uelmen and identified Juanita Moore as the defense's next witness.
1 THE COURT:

Doctor, thanks a lot. All right. Ladies and gentlemen, we are going to take our break for the noon hour. Please remember all of my admonitions to you. Don't discuss the case among yourselves, don't form any opinions about the case, don't conduct any deliberations until the matter has been submitted to you, do not allow anybody to communicate with you with regard to the case. We will stand in recess. 1:45. All right.

2 (At 12:22 P.M. the noon recess was taken until 1:45 P.M. of the same day.)
3 (Appearances as heretofore noted.)
4 (Janet M. Moxham, CSR no. 4855, official reporter.)
5 (Christine M. Olson, CSR no. 2378, official reporter.)
6 (The following proceedings were held in open court, out of the presence of the jury:)
7 THE COURT:

All right. Back on the record in the Simpson matter. All parties are again present. Counsel, did we have a chance to resolve any of those discovery and/or witness disclosure issues?

8 MR. COCHRAN:

I'm not sure. Dean Uelmen is here for us. If the Court wants to allow us a couple minutes--I'm not sure--since we left at 12:20--but it might be wise--whatever your Honor wants to do--if you want to have those lawyers working on that step outside and have us continue on, we will be willing to do that, your Honor.
